Coping with Loss in a Time of Change
We live in a time of drastic change. We can be paralysed by the sudden losses change brings to our lives. Too often we can sink into despondency and despair. Is it possible to move from Heartbreak to Hope? How can we develop the muscle of resilience to cope with and transform change? Can we, individually or as a community, make a vital difference to someone shattered by sudden change and the sense of loss it brings?
From Heartbreak to Hope: Coping with Loss in a Time of Change is open to all and will be of special interest to those who have been affected by bereavement and those who care for them. But loss has always been broader than bereavement and never more so than in post-Celtic Tiger Ireland. What about those suffering loss through unemployment and redundancy? How can we help them? What gets in the way of healthy grieving? How do we deal with anger and fear? How can we support those bereaved by suicide to come to terms with their loss? Most importantly, how can we harness the power of our own resilience?
