This Sunday, 11th October is the final Pilgrimage at Knock Shrine of the 2009
Pilgrimage Season. It is the annual Dominican Pilgrimage to Knock. The only
official ceremonies in the afternoon facilitated by Knock Shrine take place in
the Basilica at 2.30 p.m. – the Anointing of the Sick, Concelebrated Mass,
Eucharistic Blessing and Rosary Procession. Thousands of pilgrims normally
participate in this final pilgrimage of the year.
Knock Shrine is aware of media coverage about other events predicted to take
place at the Shrine this Sunday. The Catholic Church treats private revelations
with great caution. For 130 years, countless pilgrims to Knock have experienced
hope, consolation, healing and divine grace through quiet prayer at the
Apparition Gable in Knock and because of Our Lady’s presence and intercession.
Mary came to Knock in silence in 1879 to be near to her children and to support
them. We believe her silent presence at Knock will continue in the years to come
and that countless more will experience her motherly intercession.
